PORTFOLIO

We live in a time of fierce competition for the public's time and imagination. The challenge is how to build attendance while maintaining the highest standards of scholarship.  While guests expect accuracy - be it historical, scientific, technological, and/or cultural - their measure of entertainment value has been set by theme parks, film, television and the internet.  And unfortunately, less public money is also available for cultural venues.  This forces institutions to compete for guests’ leisure-time and money to supplement funding.

Today's 21st Century public is increasingly eager for experiences rather than static objects and exhibits.  They want drama, immersion, involvement, and adventures that tell a compelling and educational story.

As a result, BRC is re-inventing the definition of museums, visitor centers, science and technology and cultural heritage sites.  Leading the change, BRC transforms these institutions from collection-based to experience-based.  Here learning, truth, and accuracy are not displaced by experience-driven adventures, nor are objects or the material culture of being supplanted – they are being given context and used as part of a great compelling story that educates audiences and leaves them wanting more.

Using BRC's Scholarship meets Showmanship™ approach, the great stories of history, culture, science and technology informed by impeccable scholarship and research, are being told through immersive environments and theatres designed using state-of-the-art technology and special effects techniques.  Audiences are absorbed in the stories of the institution’s content, as though “they are there,” allowing for experiences that amaze and educate at once, while creating memories that last a lifetime.  Unlike static displays, content-based experiences emotionally and physically engage audiences while also capturing the magic, the wonder and the adventure in authentic historical items and ideas.

BRC can assist in the revitalization of an existing site or help launch a new project starting with the planning process.  Either way, by using the “language” and iconography of the 21st Century, by placing historical items and thoughts within their context, by engaging the whole of the visitor, they will not only entertained and educated, but will also be inspired to venture deeper into the subject that he/she has experienced.
