Mark has been involved in almost every aspect of presenting educational content to the public – conceptual, curatorial, and educational. Before joining BRC in 2004, he was Head Curator and Director of Collections for the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. He was a key team member working on iconic MSI projects such as the U505 Submarine, the Pioneer Zephyr Locomotive and the redevelopment of the Model Railroad. He worked on numerous temporary and traveling exhibits including both runs of the blockbuster Titanic: The Exhibition.
His strong visual storytelling ability comes from his life as a conceptual artist. He has completed commissions for the Chicago Historical Society and the John G. Shedd Aquarium.
What does this mean for museum clients? Mark has the rare ability to marry boundless creativity and outside the box thinking with the curatorial and programmatic realities of the not-for-profit museum world. The results translate into experiences that engage and delight. It’s a skill very few embody with the energy and talent Mark posesses.
Mark received a BA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and concurrently interned in the Anthropology Department of the Field Museum for three years. In his spare time, he is an amateur marathon runner and triathlete.
