“We were extremely happy with the quality of BRC’s work, which was crucial in enabling us to realize our ambitions for the Museum of Liverpool. BRC are great fun to work with and they are full of ideas – indeed, I believe they have no equal in terms of creativity.” – David Flemming, Director, National Museums Liverpool

The Museum of Liverpool will completely redefine the “city history museum” as it offers locals and tourists an innovative and ever-changing place to explore the history, culture, politics and creative spirit of the city of Liverpool.

BRC Imagination Arts collaborated with NML to develop the conceptual plan and schematic design for the museum’s four floors of exhibits and presentations, including a hands-on History Detectives gallery that will provide close encounters with real objects from the NML’s vast and extraordinary object collection. Central to the planning work was the design of a flexible exhibit infrastructure that will enable the Museum to update its exhibits and programs frequently and allow city residents to have a voice in the curatorial process.

The resulting design development (RIBA Stage E) master plan BRC produced for NML was a critical tool in obtaining full funding for the museum from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The Museum will open in 2011.
