Universal Studios Japan

Location: Osaka Japan

Client: Universal Studios

Scope: Concept through Production

In collaboration with Universal Creative, BRC Imagination Arts conceptualized and produced two attractions for Universal Studios Japan.

Steven Spielberg’s Motion Picture Magic™ is a heartfelt tribute to the Universal Studios brand and the magic of motion pictures.  Viewers enter into a 1920s-style movie theater for a celebration of motion picture storytelling, hosted by the one of the world’s greatest directors, Steven Spielberg.  The show consists of a montage of classic scenes from famous Universal productions and it invites viewers to explore humankind’s deep emotional connection to stories and characters that have shaped our lives and our century. During the show, the theater transforms into a multi-screen presentation and, as the show finishes, the main screen turns into a real set that lets the audience step into the pictures themselves.

In Animation Celebration®, using BRC’s innovative Holavision® technology, Woody Woodpecker escapes the two dimensional world of cartoons.  A young animation director is working in his studio when Woody Woodpecker escapes from his animation computer.  Woody gleefully starts to destroy the studio, along with the young animator’s career.  The result is a hysterical show of magic, special effects, and laugh-out-loud fun.
