Experience Designer

BRC Imagination Arts is a Los Angeles-based experiential design and production company comprised of an eclectic group of thinkers, designers, artists, writers and technical wizards focused on pushing the boundaries of creativity and imagination in the realm of the possible. We endlessly strive to conceive ideas that grow into sustainable, transforming experiences for audiences around the world that have the ability to change the cultural conversation. In other words, we like to tell stories in new, emotional and thrilling ways. Our clients include some of the most prestigious museums, international brands, cultural institutions and world-class visitor attractions.

We’re looking to meet bright, talented and enthusiastic Experience Designers to join our idea circle and eclectic ranks. If you have an amazing portfolio, a passion for design, and a “do whatever it takes” attitude, we want to see what you’ve got. We are looking for full-, part-time and freelance candidates.

Essential Skills:

• You must have solid experience in either Industrial Design, Architectural Design, Environmental Design, Theatre Design or Entertainment Design. This means a strong understanding of scale, spatial relationships, materials, lighting, guest flow and advanced design principles.
• A degree in Industrial Design, Architecture, Illustration, Environmental Design, Graphic Design, Theater Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.
• You must be able to present design ideas in a painfully clear and effective way, and preferably in both hand sketches and digital ones. Strong communication / ideation skills are critical.
• Software: You must know the following forwards and backwards: Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Anything else is frosting, especially if it’s CAD/3D.
• You must be able to manage multiple projects and meet (sometimes crazy insane) deadlines.
• You must be able to think through the end of your pen or mouse. Ideation skills are critical to our design process.
• You must be able to work well with other designers, non-designers and management.
• An understanding of sustainable design and cultural sensitivity is a HUGE plus. We care about the world and the future we all share. We celebrate the human spirit.
• We work at a very high rate of speed. You must be able generate ideas, projects and edits quickly and effectively.
• Flexibility is a must! We need you to be a motivated self-starter, but also a good collaborator. That is the key to success at this company.
• Multiple degrees, interests, passions and an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and experiencing life is a big plus. Let’s face it, we need people who are passionate about learning and participating in the subjects we design and present.

As an ideal candidate, you'll want to be organized and prepared to utilize your problem-solving skills. Attention to detail is a huge factor, as is the ability to manage your time. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: flexibility is a must.
