Rogers Known for Work with Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, Adler Planetarium, Disney, Ford Motor Company, NASA, and Universal Studios

BURBANK, CA – BRC Imagination Arts, one of the world's leading creators of truly engaging visitor experiences for museums, corporate visitor centers, and cultural heritage attractions, today announced that on Saturday, March 3 founder and CEO Bob Rogers will receive the 2006 THEA Lifetime Achievement Award recipient by the TEA (http://www.teaconnect.org/), a non-profit association representing the world’s leading creators, developers, designers and producers of compelling places and experiences.

Internationally recognized as the equivalent of an Oscar for the industry, the THEA Awards bring recognition to achievement, talent, and personal excellence within the themed entertainment and experience design industry worldwide, with more than 10 competitive categories. Each year only one THEA Lifetime Achievement Award is given. This year’s awards will be presented at the THEA Awards Gala in Anaheim, California at the Disneyland Hotel.

As CEO of BRC, Rogers has led a wide variety of projects for clients such as the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, Disney, General Motors, NASA, the Texas State History Museum, and the U.S. Pavilion at the 2005 World's Fair in Japan. With nearly 40 years in the industry, Rogers has become a highly-sought writer and speaker on subjects related to content-based themed entertainment. His reputation as one of the world’s most innovative and insightful creators of educational visitor experiences earned him an invitation to help NASA develop its master plan for the exploration of Mars. In 2002, Rogers was awarded one of NASA’s most prestigious civilian awards—the NASA Public Service Medal.

The THEA Lifetime Achievement Award is the latest among more than 250 international awards garnered by BRC over 25 years, with eleven previous THEA Awards for Outstanding Achievement including two last year for the categories: Reinvention of a Cultural Heritage Center: Images of Singapore, Sentosa Island, Singapore; and Museum: Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.

Rogers joins an esteemed group of previous Lifetime Achievement recipients including: Harrison "Buzz" Price (1994), the economic feasibility science inventor of the themed entertainment industry; Marty Sklar (1995), the creative head of Walt Disney Imagineering for a quarter century; John Hench (1998), Walt Disney Imagineer and master art director for 65 years; and Yves Pépin (2005), creator of world expositions, special events, and international event spectaculars including the Millennium firework celebration at the Eiffel Tower.

"I am humbled to join such a truly impressive collection of creative, accomplished, and visionary minds," said Rogers. "BRC is known for its respect for content, an ability to embrace and communicate history and culture, and a desire to give visitors meaningful experiences. This award is a measure not of my work alone, but of the collective work of BRC and its clients over the past 25 years, and exemplifies the growing impact of our ‘Showmanship Meets Scholarship’ approach to experience design."
