Mark Hayward Joins BRC as Director of Museum Project Developmentrelease date: December 3, 2004 Burbank, Calif. -- BRC Imagination Arts today announced the appointment of Mark Hayward Director of Museum Project Development. “When we decided to create this position, we wanted to find the most dynamic, most creative, most experienced museum professional out there – and we believe we’ve done just that with Mark,” said Scott Ault, BRC’s Vice President and Executive Producer. “With the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library project, we believe BRC is helping to invent the 21st century museum. With his unique museum background and deep understanding of this field, Mark is just the person to help us find new clients and partners who want to create the great, breakthrough museums of the next 20 years.” Mark comes to BRC from the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry, where he was Head Curator and Director of Collections from 2001 to 2004. During that time, CMSI did some of its most interesting, innovative work. Before that, he was MSI’s Senior Exhibition Developer. Prior to working for MSI, he held positions at the International Museum of Surgical Science, Chicago Historical Society and Field Museum. He has also served as a consultant for the Chicago Architecture Foundation, the American Bar Association Museum of Law, and the Garfield Park Conservatory. BRC Senior Director of Themed Entertainment Projects Rob Wyatt points out that, besides his museum background, Mark is also a working conceptual and installation artist who regularly exhibits his work in the United States and abroad. “We love people who can wear many hats. Mark knows the museum business from curatorial side, from the exhibit side, and from the artistic side. He knows the business – more importantly, he loves the business, and its potential to educate and inspire.” Mark joins Rob, Jeff Rosen and Dan Bock on BRC’s Project Development team. This team is currently developing several museum projects, as well as theater shows and entire theme parks. “We’ve never had so many great projects and outstanding clients.
