BRC Imagination Arts Applied Cultural Heritage Expertise At UNESCO International Workshop

release date: July 31, 2006

Joined Experts and Scholars in Egypt to Address the Feasibility of Establishing an Underwater Museum in Alexandria

BURBANK, CA – BRC Imagination Arts, one of the world’s leading creators of distinctive experience exhibits for museums, corporate visitor centers and heritage attractions, today announced it participated in an International Workshop held by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and Egyptian authorities earlier this month. Drawing on its award-winning expertise in planning, designing and producing cultural heritage centers throughout the world, BRC representatives collaborated with other global authorities to explore the possibility of establishing an underwater museum in Alexandria, Egypt.

From July 3rd through the 6th, international experts, in addition to Egyptian experts, discussed four primary topics: archaeology and preservation; architecture; hydrology/environment; and the urban, tourism, economic and social impact of such a museum on the city. The workshop concluded with overall recommendations, to be followed up and taken into consideration for the further development of the museum.

"BRC’s mission is to create compelling and sustainable cultural heritage centers using a Showmanship Meets Scholarship approach. By applying 21st Century experiential design techniques, we know how to emotionally engage visitors in the magic of a destination’s history and story. With the knowledge we’ve gained designing some of the world’s most exciting museums and cultural heritage sites, we eagerly contributed creative ideas and direction that best support this important effort for Alexandria and the world," said Jeff Rosen, Director of Development Cultural Heritage Projects, BRC Imagination Arts.

"The eastern port of Alexandria is a unique archaeological site. There is a wealth of information there. We can learn from this area about the old world and ancient Egypt by preserving this site."
