What is RSS?

RSS is a format for syndicating news and the content of news-like sites.  A news aggregator can help you keep up with all your favorite web sites by checking their RSS feeds and displaying new items from each of them.

How to Read an RSS Feed

Following are a few free ways in which you can read and subscribe to RSS news feeds. Once you have set up your program, simply click on the orange XML icon, copy the URL and paste it into the appropriate location in your reader.  It's that easy!

• Firefox
  This popular web browser has a built-in RSS aggregator called Live Bookmarks.
• Pluck
  Install this program, or use their web-based version.
• Shrook
  Downloadable program for for Mac users.
