ABOUT US

Brad Shelton

Brad Shelton brings a wealth of experience in many different entertainment forms to BRC, with expertise in everything from story structure and screenwriting to live production and classical theatre to non-profit management and fundraising. He recently came to BRC as a writer, and worked on a new project for Times Square in New York City and helped to develop new collateral for the Project Development department.

In the theatre, Brad worked as a producer and director around the world, including productions in Cairo, Egypt, and Arezzo, Italy, a workshop production at the Lincoln Center Directors Lab in New York, and award-winning productions in Chicago, New York City, North Carolina and Los Angeles. During his time in the theatre he also worked as an administrator, including stints as the Founding Artistic Director of the award winning greasy joan & company in Chicago (named after the unseen bar wench in Shakespeare’s “Love’s Labors Lost”), the grants officer and international booking agent at Dance Theatre of Harlem, and as the Executive Producer of the StreetSigns Center for Literature and Performance - a performing arts center, housed at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, that focused on adaptations of southern literature for the stage.

As a writer, Brad has co-written three screenplays (2 of which are currently under option), and a pilot for a television series. He is also the writer of a 3-D film experience currently in development with Super 78 and Matilda Entertainment.

As a consultant, Brad has worked for the North Carolina Arts Council (creating a report on the crisis in North Carolina’s outdoor dramas), Big Easy Ltd. and Clos Maggiore Ltd. in London, and the English design firm Creative Made.

Brad is a graduate of Rhodes College and the American Repertory Theatre’s Institute for Advanced Theatre Training at Harvard University. He has also worked as a professor, museum docent, waiter, paralegal, film executive, and, in case you like bad Viking movies, a professional actor.
