Some works are designed for a season. Others become part of the cultural architecture.

Impressions de France opened alongside EPCOT’s World Showcase on October 1, 1982, in the France Pavilion’s Palais du Cinéma: an elegant, five-screen cinematic journey through the landscapes, music, and spirit of France. It was the last film Bob Rogers made for Disney before founding BRC Imagination Arts. Bob served as writer and one of the film’s two producers.

A record-breaking run

For 43 years, 4 months, and 21 days, the film played daily at EPCOT without editorial changes, earning a Guinness World Records title in 2017 as the longest-running daily screening of a film in the same theater.

After closing for refurbishment on February 22, 2026, Disney has now reopened Impressions de France with the original 200-degree film unchanged.

In an industry defined by reinvention, the enduring power of Impressions de France is a reminder that timeless storytelling does not always need to be replaced.

Sometimes, it simply needs to be preserved.
